Health & Safety

The role of the Joint Occupational Health & Safety (OH & S) Committee is to address health and safety concerns in the workplace.

The Committee has representatives from Parks, Recreation & Culture, Public Works, Municipal Hall and Mission Fire/Rescue Service that meet on a monthly basis to discuss job-site concerns and resolutions. Yearly training is provided to update and refresh committee members on correct procedures and requirements.

Committee members are involved with, and updated on, all injury reports, accident investigations and worksite safety inspections for the District of Mission. The Committee consists of a minimum two union employees, a management representative, the health & safety consultant and designated alternates.

Please contact Harminder Gill, CUPE Local 1267 Vice President, if you have any work related health and safety questions, concerns or issues.

A current copy of CUPE's health and safety newsletter "The Canary" is now available. This newsletter offers work-site safety tips and loads of interesting and valuable information.

The Occupational Health and Safety Regulations can be found at www.worksafebc.com.
